Kathryn Freeman Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Houston.  She specializes in the sociology of health and illness, urban sociology, race/ethnicity and organizations. Her work is generally focused on understanding the social sources of health disparities in the United States. In particular, she examines the role of race/ethnicity and urban neighborhood dynamics to analyze how these factors may affect individual health.
