Season 6 Episode 1
Public health, as defined by the American Public Health Association, promotes and protects the health of all people and their communities. Hope, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is a desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment. In many ways, public health is hope. The hope for food security, cures to disease, more opportunities, and everything that makes communities strong. And yet, the current view of public health contrasts this greatly; a cloud of cynicism seems to follow every public health conversation.
In the upcoming season of PHPod, new host Jack Mellom explores the less visible sides of public health to highlight stories of hope and shift our interpretation of public health at a time when we need it most.
