Trang Nguyen is the director of the Public Health Information Group at the New York State Department of Health and is a research associate professor of epidemiology at the School of Public Health, UAlbany-SUNY. She works primarily on research, surveillance, program evaluation, and quality improvement to support health needs assessment, plan and implement interventions to eliminate disparities, and improve health equity and population health.

New York’s Paid Family Leave Law Leads to More Equitable Use of Paid Leave Following Childbirth

In 2018, the implementation of New York’s Paid Family Leave law increased the use of paid leave after childbirth among all women, with the greatest increase among women of color.
