Paul S. Appelbaum

Paul S. Appelbaum is the Elizabeth K. Dollard Professor of psychiatry, medicine & law at Columbia University and a research scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. His research interests encompass issues in law and ethics that affect medical practice and research, with a special focus on ethical, legal, and social issues related to advances in genetics and neuroscience. He is a past president of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
