Onisha S. Etkins
Guest AuthorOnisha is a social epidemiologist whose research focuses on the impacts of racism on mental health in Black immigrant communities. She also combines her experience as a dancer with her research to explore how healing processes already existing within marginalized communities can be used to foster joy, pleasure, and positive mental health. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a doctoral affiliate with the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard.
