Miriam Magaña Lopez
Guest AuthorMiriam Magaña Lopez, MPH is a first-generation immigrant from Jalisco, Mexico. Miriam currently works with the Othering & Belonging Institute and the Institute for the Study of Societal Issues at UC Berkeley. Recently, she conducted ethnographic fieldwork among vineyard workers to understand how employment regimes influence vineyard workers’ integration in Sonoma Valley. Miriam is also an immigrant activist and has worked on campaigns such as Drivers License for All in Minnesota, stopping police cooperation with ICE, and urging for legalization for all.
