Mary Story
Guest AuthorMary Story, PhD, RD is a Professor in Global Health and Family Medicine and Community Health at Duke University. For 16 years she has been the director of Healthy Eating Research, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focused on policy, systems, and environmental solutions to improve diet quality and prevent child obesity and food insecurity. Her PhD is in nutrition science and her research focuses primarily on nutrition and diet-related issues of low-income and minority youth and their families. She has over 450 scientific journal articles related to child and adolescent nutrition. She has received numerous national awards for her research and leadership, including The Obesity Society, 2019 Friends of Albert (Mickey) Stunkard Lifetime Achievement Award. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.
