John Doering-White

John Doering-White is an ethnographer trained in the Joint Doctoral Program in Social Work and Anthropology at the University of Michigan. His dissertation “In the Shadow of the Beast: Violence and Dignity along the Central American Migrant Trail” draws on fieldwork in and around sanctuary spaces across Mexico to understand how humanitarian organizations have responded to intensified policing along transit corridors through Mexico in recent years.
