Amy Byers
Guest AuthorAmy Byers is a research career scientist at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System, and professor of psychiatry & behavioral sciences and medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is a clinical epidemiologist and leads an independent program focused on research involving challenging and complex problems and approaches related to the onset, course, predictors, and outcomes of mental health disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, suicide, and suicidal behavior in aging adults utilizing large-scale data sources. She has been funded by several agencies, including VA, NIH (NIMH, NIA, and NIMHD), Department of Defense, and UCSF’s Older Americans Independence Center.
