Alia Cornell

Alia Cornell has spent the past seven years advancing abortion research, advocacy, and access to reproductive health care. After earning a Bachelor of Science from UCLA and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University, she began her medical training at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Los Angeles, where she is now a second-year medical student. Her work bridges public health, reproductive health, and clinical medicine to promote patient autonomy and equitable access to care. Alia grew up in the Midwest and has personal ties to communities affected by abortion stigma and restrictions. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to expanding reproductive health care in rural and underserved communities. Her work also encompasses gender-based violence prevention and holistic approaches to maternal health.
Alia plans to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology. Ultimately, she envisions a future in which geography, identity, and income no longer determine a person’s ability to make decisions about their body and future.
